Deadly Shooting Rock Annotto Bay and Spanish Town

Police responded to deadly shootings in Annotto Bay in St. Mary and Spanish Town, St. Catherine. In St Mary a lone gunman shot and injured a mother and fatally shot her son. In Spanish armed robbers fatally shot a truck driver, and robbed his truck loaded with chicken.

Murder Charges for Men Who Set Victim on Fire.

Two men, Garnet Dale and Kemar Wilson, have been charged with murder after allegedly setting 34-year-old Kemar Smith on fire during a bar dispute in Kingston, Jamaica. Smith died from his injuries five days later. Separately, two teenagers were indicted for robbing a complainant, and a tire repairman was charged with assault and robbery.

Police Charged Trelawny Men with Rape and Murder of 15-Year-Old Schoolgirl.

The authorities charged three men with the brutal rape and murder of 15-year-old Jamelia Cole at her home in Trelawny on August 6, 2023. In another incident, a construction worker fatally shot at Grandmother's Wake in St Catherine. And the police charged a St Ann chef over Stabbing at a Trelawny Hotel. Also, a suspected intruder was fatally shot by licensed firearm holder in Mandeville.

Former Tivoli Gardens Figure Kirk Orlando Francis Fatally Shot in Downtown Kingston.

In Kingston, a former Tivoli Gardens member, Kirk Orlando Francis, was fatally shot. In Montego Bay, a 17-year-old was charged with rape and assault. Two men faced charges for aggravated robbery in St. Andrew. Additionally, eight individuals were charged in connection with a murder in Portland, including three with murder and five with conspiracy.

Police have identified the alleged robbers killed in St. Thomas.

Law enforcement in St. Thomas has identified three suspects killed in a confrontation after an attempted burglary. The St Andrew North Police have charged Keymo Dacres, an entertainer, for discharging a firearm. Additionally, authorities are investigating a robbery of over $2 million at a casino in Spanish Town, St Catherine, and searching for individuals linked to discarded ammunition in St Catherine North.

Police charged a Bull Bay man with a Clarendon cookshop operator’s robbery and murder.

Also, Spanish Town police launched an investigation into the fatal shooting of Jaso Clarke at the corner of Burke Road and Young Street. In yet another incident, police in Westmoreland charged a 60-year-old man with sexual assault of a female under 16.

Two people were shot and killed at a bar in Manchester.

Two individuals, including a bar owner, were fatally shot in Christiana, Manchester on the night of July 13, 2024. The third victim was hospitalized. DJ 'Rico' faces murder charges in another incident. Chinese supermarket owners were abducted in a robbery in Spaulding, Clarendon. Devon Fallen of Steer Town faces assault charges.

Taxi Operator Injured, Two Alleged Attackers in Custody After Robbery.

A taxi operator and a robber were injured in a shooting during a robbery in Kingston. An investigation into a fatal shooting in Old Harbour is underway. There's also an ongoing investigation into a fatal stabbing in Ocho Rios. Additionally, a farmer has been charged with murder and illegal burial of a security guard in St Catherine.

Alleged reputed gang leader reportedly gunned down on Windward Road.

Several recent incidents of gun violence in Jamaica have shocked communities and prompted police action. A reputed gang leader and a 60-year-old man were fatally shot in separate incidents, while three suspects face charges for firearm violations. Additionally, a man has been charged with armed robbery and gun possession. The police are actively investigating these troubling events.
