The robbery unfolded on Tuesday night, March 18, 2025, during which the robbers allegedly shot and injured two police officers.

The authorities reported that on Tuesday night, March 18, 2025, members of the St. James Beat Officer Patrol Division responded to an active robbery at a supermarket on Church Street in Montego Bay, St. James.

Two men challenged the cops to a shoot-out. One man was armed with a high-powered rifle, and the other had a handgun.

As a result, two officers sustained gunshot injuries but are said to be in stable condition.

Unfortunately, the gunmen managed to escape. It is unclear whether any of them sustained injuries during the exchange of fire.

The St. James police appealed to witnesses to give any information that would help apprehend the gunmen.

Law enforcement officials acted swiftly and diligently. On Wednesday evening, March 19, 2025, they shot and killed the robbers in separate targeted operations.

Media reports suggest that one of the suspects was killed. The incident occurred during a confrontation with members of the security forces in Go Peace Lane, Salt Spring, St. James, shortly after 4:00 p.m.

The police reportedly recovered one firearm and a stack of coins they believed the robbers stole from the supermarket.

Police raids. Less than one hour later, the police fatally wounded another suspect they believed was also involved in the supermarket robbery. This incident unfolded after the suspect challenged officers during an operation in Albion Lane.

The police reportedly seized one illegal firearm near the suspect at the scene.

Reports show that police are conducting targeted operations in the parish where criminals robbed two supermarkets on Tuesday night.

Police raids. In Eastern Kingston, Jamaica, Rockfort police charged a suspect with multiple gun-related felonies. These charges are related to the fatal shooting on Hillcrest Avenue in St Andrew. The incident occurred in December 2024.

The police identified the accused as Terrian Gordon, otherwise called ‘Quincy,’ 39, a mechanic, from Harbor Road in Eastern Kingston.

Law enforcement charged Gordon with murder and possession of a prohibited weapon. The police also charged Gordon with unauthorized possession of ammunition. Using a firearm to commit a felony and conspiracy to commit murder were included in the charges.

They identified the deceased as 31-year-old Lester Moore, otherwise called ‘Chucky,’ a furniture maker of Glasspole Avenue, Rockfort.

Police raids. The Rockfort police reported that Gordon allegedly attacked Moore. Moore was walking along Hillcrest Avenue at approximately 12:30 p.m. on December 13, 2024.

Investigators alleged that Gordon brandished a firearm and shot Moore in the upper body before fleeing the scene on foot.

The police responded quickly and transported Moore to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Officers charged Gordon after an identification parade, during which witnesses positively identified him.
