A St Ann couple faces illegal gun possession and marijuana charges following a security forces raid at their home. Law enforcement discovered the contraband during an operation in the Bellaire Housing Scheme in Runaway Bay, St Ann, on Sunday.
The individuals accused have been identified as Omar Henry, also known as ‘Smokey,’ aged 46, a wood carver, and Stacey Allen, aged 34, a shopkeeper, who is referred to as ‘Chi Chi’; both are residents of the Bellaire Housing Scheme.
Charges against them include possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, possession of ganja, and dealing in ganja. These charges underscore the serious issue of gun possession in the community.
According to law enforcement officials, on Sunday, September 6, between the hours of 4:45 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., a joint police and military operation was executed in the community.
During a thorough search of the couple’s residence, the authorities reportedly discovered a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol equipped with a magazine containing three cartridges, further implicating them in gun possession.
Additionally, the security forces allegedly seized approximately eight pounds of ganja.
The couple has been arrested and charged, with their court appearance pending. The case highlights ongoing concerns about illegal gun possession.
Driver Charged in Fatal Washington Boulevard Crash.
The driver involved in the tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two individuals who were assisting a motorist along Washington Boulevard in St. Andrew on September 28 has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving.

The accused has been identified as Tor Anuar McIntosh, residing in Rovan Heights, Kingston 6.
According to authorities from the Duhaney Park police, this heartbreaking event occurred around 3:35 a.m. on September 28.
Reports indicated that two motorists had stopped on the roadside to aid another driver involved in an earlier accident. Both individuals were standing at the side of the road when they were struck with force by the vehicle.
Passersby responded promptly, transporting the injured men to the hospital, where they later died from their injuries.
The police have identified the victims as Javaughn Rodney, 37, a motor vehicle inspector from Dagwood Place, Ebonyville in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, and Mark Garrick, 50, a businessman from Rudolph Avenue, Kingston 20.
McIntosh’s court appearance date is pending.
