Gun Violence at Party in Old Harbor: A Fatal Incident

Cops Charged Mandela Highway Robber and Murder Suspect. On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, cops in St. Catherine, Jamaica, charged a suspect with the alleged robbery and fatal shooting that occurred along the St. Catherine section of the Mandela Highway on June 11. Authorities identified the suspect as Nicholas Bhalai, o/c, 'Coolie Bap,' 24, a laborer of Ferry, district, in St Catherine, Jamaica.

Old Harbor, St Catherine, Jamaica: On Saturday night, gun violence escalated when gunmen reportedly shot and killed a patron at a party in the vicinity of Burke Road.

The victim has been identified as Romaine Harrison, a 30-year-old laborer from Lennonfield in Old Harbor.

According to reports from the Gleaner, explosions were heard around 11:50 p.m. during the event near the Burke Road taxi stand.

Responding officers from the Old Harbor Police Station arrived on the scene of yet another act of gun violence.

Upon their arrival, they discovered Harrison with multiple gunshot wounds.

The officers promptly transported him to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical officials.

Authorities have yet to prove a motive for the latest act of gun violence.. The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Old Harbor Criminal Investigations Branch.

Detectives from the Manchester police department have charged a taxi operator with burglary and theft involving $150,000.

The accused has been identified as 43-year-old Dwayne McDonald, residing in the Richmond district of Manchester.

The alleged crime took place in the New Hall district on Thursday, September 26.

According to police statements, on the day of the incident, two sisters secured their home, activated their security camera system, and departed the premises.

At approximately 12:40 a.m., they received a video alert from the security camera situated inside their residence.

The footage captured McDonald unlawfully entering through a side window.

The police responded and discovered that $150,000 was missing from a bag belonging to one of the sisters.

The video evidence directly implicated McDonald, leading to his apprehension by the officers on duty.

On Saturday, October 05, authorities formally charged him following a question-and-answer session attended by his attorney.

The date for McDonald’s court appearance remains to be determined.

The St Andrew South Police have issued a warning to a motorist regarding potential prosecution following an incident in which two men were tragically killed. The men, who had exited their vehicle to assist another motorist, were struck by a vehicle on Washington Boulevard in Kingston 20.

The victims have been identified as 37-year-old Javaughn Rodney, a motor vehicle inspector residing at Dagwood Place, Ebonyville in Spanish Town, St Catherine, and 50-year-old businessman Mark Garrick of Rudolph Avenue, Kingston 20.

Reports indicated that at approximately 3:30 a.m., Rodney and Garrick were traveling along Washington Boulevard when they encountered an accident. They exited their vehicle to lend assistance to those involved.

While they were providing aid to the affected parties, they were unfortunately struck by another vehicle. Emergency medical personnel later confirmed that both men were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
