Dwight Campbell Charged in Killing of St Mary Relative.

Law enforcement officers in St Mary reported that they have charged Dwight Campbell in connection with the passing of 64-year-old Clifton Campbell. He was a laborer of Donnington, Gayle, St Mary. Investigators have confirmed the identity of the suspect as 22-year-old Dwight Campbell, otherwise called ‘Cardo.’ He is from Cox Piece district, in St. Mary.

Law enforcement officers in St Mary reported that they have charged Dwight Campbell in connection with the passing of 64-year-old Clifton Campbell. He was a laborer of Donnington, Gayle, St Mary.

Investigators have confirmed the identity of the suspect as 22-year-old Dwight Campbell, otherwise called ‘Cardo.’ He is from Cox Piece district, in St. Mary.

The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred in the Donnington district in Gayle, St Mary between Monday, August 31, and Thursday, September 3.

According to the Port Maria Police, Clifton Campbell was last seen at his home around 5:00 PM on Monday, August 31. The police said Campbell, known to be mentally unstable, lived in a two-bedroom board house alone.

When a concerned relative had not seen or heard from him, they went to his house to check on him. Upon arrival, the relative discovered his body lying face down along a pathway leading to the house.

Dwight Campbell allegedly mutilated Clifton Campbell’s body.

The distraught relative summoned the police to the scene. Upon arrival, the police found Clifton’s body with burn marks and in a state of decomposition. He also appeared to have sustained chop wounds to his neck, back and right wrist, with the wrist partially severed.

Scene of crime detectives quickly processed the scene and subsequently removed the body to the morgue pending a post-mortem examination.

Investigators from the Port Maria Police Department launched an investigation and identified Dwight Campbell as a suspect.

As a result, a team of officers conducted an operation at Dwight Campbell’s home and apprehended him.

After receiving a caution statement and participating in an interview with his attorney present, the police formally charged Dwight Campbell with multiple felonies. These include murder, aggravated robbery, obstructing justice, attempting to prevent the lawful burial of a corpse, attempting to dispose of a corpse, and misprision of a felony.

Investigators have not yet scheduled a court appearance date for Dwight Campbell.
