Police charged three men with the murder of a Kingston shopkeeper.

Gum Shoes at the Kingston Central Police Station arrested and charged three suspects concerning the murder of a 54-year-old shopkeeper on Gold Street in Kingston in August 2023.

The police charged Quan ‘Crocs,’ Dawson, age 20, of Maiden Lane, Kingston. He is known to be affiliated with a local gang and has a history of involvement in violent crimes. Delano ‘Huddie,’ Anglin, age 20, is a fisherman from Maiden Lane, Kingston, known for his association with criminal activities. Antonio Jackson o/c ‘Forty,’ age 23, resides in Barry Street, Kingston, and has previous run-ins with the law.

According to authorities, the incident took place around 4:15 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. The victim, Mr. Brown, was diligently working at his shop when the three men approached him. Without any provocation, they opened gunfire, striking Mr. Brown in the upper body.

Mr. Brown succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The devastating loss of a hardworking and respected member of the community sent shockwaves throughout Kingston.

Law enforcement officers swiftly launched an intensive investigation, leaving no stone unturned to bring the perpetrators to justice. Through diligent efforts and cooperation from witnesses, they were able to identify and apprehend the suspects.

Dawson, Anglin, and Jackson were captured during a meticulously planned police operation. Subsequent to their arrest, the suspects underwent extensive question-and-answer sessions, conducted in the presence of their legal representatives.

On Friday, September 1, 2023, the police formally charged the three men with murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorized possession of ammunition. These serious charges reflect the nature and severity of their alleged crimes.

Police found a St. Andrew man dead at home.

Half-Way Tree Law enforcement officers are seeking the public’s assistance to locate the relatives of a man found dead at his home along Norwich Avenue in St Andrew.

The authorities identified the body as that of Stanford Campbell, age 53.

It has a dark complexion, slim build, and about 5 feet 8 inches long. It has a low-cut hairstyle and was clad in grey shorts and a grey and white shirt.

According to a report from the Half-Way Tree police, a neighbor requested the police presence at Campbell’s home.

Upon arrival, officers stumbled upon Campbell’s unresponsive body. 

They processed the scene and removed the body to the morgue.

The police ask relatives or anyone who can locate the relatives of Stanford Campbell to contact the Half-Way Tree police at 876-926-8184, the police 119 emergency number, or the nearest police station.

Police arrested two suspects following firearm and ammo seizure in Westmoreland.

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica —On Sunday afternoon, September 3, 2023, Westmoreland’s Proactive Investigations Unit conducted a snap operation in the Delveland section of Little London, Westmoreland.

During the operation, the police seized one Taurus 9mm pistol and two rounds of ammunition. 

According to reports, at about 1:30 p.m., the police were in the area when they raided a premises and seized the prohibited weapon and ammunition.

The police arrested two people in connection with the seizure.

The police withheld the names of the suspects pending further investigation.
