ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica— In a shocking turn of events in the quiet district of Cabbage Valley, St. Elizabeth, a 73-year-old woman was arrested by local detectives after allegedly taking the life of her 75-year-old husband. The incident unfolded on a fateful Saturday morning, September 2, 2023, leaving the community in disbelief and mourning.

The police identified the dead man as Arthur Townsend, age 75, a farmer from the Cabbage Valley Community.
According to reports, at about 4 a.m., on Saturday, September 2, 2023, the couple was at home when they reportedly started to argue over a ‘Will’ the husband was preparing.
The police said the wife became upset when she learned her husband did not include her name in the ‘Will.’
An altercation reportedly followed. The wife used a sharp object and stabbed her husband all over his body.
The police transported the injured man to the hospital, where he died.
The police took the took the 73-year-old wife into custody.
The Balaclava police are investigating.
Clarendon woman found dead in front of her yard.
CLARENDON, Jamaica— Gum shoes in Clarendon have launched an investigation to determine who or what caused the death of a woman whose body residents found in front of her yard on Rosewell Road, May Pen, Clarendon, on Saturday morning, September 2, 2023.
The police identified the deceased woman as Deborah Martin, age 44.
According to reporting, at about 8:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 2, 2023, Martin’s 16-year-old son stumbled upon his mother’s motionless body in front of their yard. He alerted other residents, who summoned the police.
Upon arrival, the police found Martin lying on the grass, clad in a red spaghetti strap blouse and black jogger pants with what appeared to be minor scratches on her neck.
The police transported Martin to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced her dead.
The May Pen police are investigating.
Police charged a Kingston man with the fatal stabbing of another man.
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Police arrested and charged a Kingston man with the murder of Jason Bennett on Psalms Avenue, Kingston 11, on August 24, 2023.
The police charged Maleeka Morgan, age 21, of Penwood Road, Kingston 11, with murder.
The police said at about 7:45 p.m., Morgan and Bennett had a physical altercation. Morgan used a knife and stabbed Bennett.
The police transported Bennett to the hospital, where he died.
The police subsequently arrested and charged Morgan.
His court date is pending.
Police charged a St. Mary man after allegedly stabbing a Kingston man.
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Gum Shoes from the Kingston West Division arrested and charged a suspect with wounding with intent after he allegedly stabbed another man with an ice pick on August 24, 2023.
Police identified the suspect as Demar Hibbert of Annotto Bay, St Mary.
According to reports, at about 4:50 p.m., Hibbert and another man had a dispute. Hibbert allegedly used an ice pick and stabbed the man. The injured man raised an alarm, and residents alerted the police.
The police transported the injured man to the hospital.
The police subsequently arrested and charged Hibbert.
His court date is pending.
