On Saturday, September 02, 2023, a man from St Andrew was rescued by a team of police and military personnel after being abducted and held hostage by unknown individuals.
The police said Marlon Jones was reported missing on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
A police release issued on the day in question indicated that Jones, age 46, is from the Acadia community and was last seen in the Seaview Gardens area of St Andrew on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, wearing a black shirt, grey-and-black shorts, and a pair of grey Clarks.
The police asked anyone knowing Jones’ whereabouts to contact the Grant Pen police.
In the release, the police reported launching targeted operations across multiple divisions after receiving credible intelligence from various sources.
Hence, the quick and decisive action by the security forces led to them rescuing Jones in Kingston on Saturday, September 02, 2023.
Also, the police reported making multiple arrests and indicated more will follow.
The investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest all persons involved.
