The police arrested Dancehall artist Khago after allegedly pulling his firearm at a relative at his home in Knockpatrick, Manchester, last Friday, March 3, 2023.
The police arrested and charged the deejay with assault at common law following a report made to the Mandeville police by a woman related to the artist.
According to the police Khago, whose birth name is Ricardo Gayle, pointed the weapon at the relative before threatening her after the two got into a verbal exchange. The relative subsequently ran from the house, and she was assisted to the police station by a member of Khago’s team.
She told the media that the incident left her traumatized. According to the relative, the dispute stemmed from a domestic situation she was trying to explain to Khago involving his girlfriend.
A court date has not been scheduled.

“He was saying earlier that the dust had sickened his child, and I was explaining to him that the young lady was walking in the house with her slippers from the outside, and that could contribute to it. Same time he jumps up and start say, ‘yuh know mi no need yuh fi tell mi how fi run my house. Yuh have people here weh bring me happiness, and yuh nah go come tek dat from me’,” she recounted.
“I turned to him and said that he must learn fi listen, and that is when him start gwaan and class mi di most way,” the relative said.
