Truck Drivers: One Beaten to death, Two Charged with Theft. In Kingston, Jamaica, detectives assigned to the Denham Town Police Station have arrested and charged a murder suspect. He allegedly used a piece of board and beat a truck driver to his death on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Law enforcement identified the suspect as Alando Johnson, 39, of Mountain View Estate, Spanish Town in St Catherine.
The police charged Johnson with the murder of 46-year-old Dwayne Dennis, a truck driver of Sigarny Drive, Kingston 2.
The Denham Town police reported that at about 5:00 p.m. on April 30, the accused and Dennis broke into a verbal altercation along Alton Villa Road in Kingston
Unfortunately, the altercation escalated into a fatal confrontation. During the melee, Johnson allegedly struck Dennis on the head and body with a piece of wood.
As a result, Dennis collapsed.
Reportedly, Johnson attempted to flee the scene, but concerned citizens chased him, caught him, and summoned the police.
Upon the arrival of the police, the citizens turned Johnson over to the police.
The police rushed the injured truck driver to the hospital to save him. Sadly, it was too late. His injuries were too severe, and he succumbed.
Law enforcement formally charged Johnson on Saturday, May 3, 2025. His court appearance date is pending.
Truck Drivers Charged with Theft in Spanish Town
Detectives from the St Catherine North Police Department reported that they have charged two truck drivers. The drivers are accused of stealing a generator and a plate compactor from a premises in Golden Acres, Spanish Town. They then advertised the items for sale.
Investigators identified the accused. The first is Carl Phillips, 34, of Winters Pen in Spanish Town. The second is 37-year-old Jason Hare, of the Bowers Wood district in Bog Walk, St. Catherine.
Law enforcement charged the truck drivers with simple larceny.
According to the allegations reported by the Spanish Town police, at about 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 01, 2025, the accused truck drivers allegedly entered the premises. Then they stole a portable generator and plate compactor valued at $1 million. Later, they displayed the items for sale.
After collecting the complainant’s sworn statement, the police launched an investigation.
Later, the police intercepted the suspects and found the stolen items in their possession.
Investigators arrested the truck drivers and formally charged them with simple larceny. Their court appearance date is pending.
