Tragedy struck in Donmair Close, St. Andrew, on Sunday night. A minor domestic dispute over a bath pan ended with fatal consequences. A cousin of a Caribbean Maritime University student allegedly seriously wounded him with a knife during a fight at home.
The authorities have identified the deceased as 28-year-old Tristan Parkes, a student at CMU residing on Donmair Close in Kingston 19.
Reports indicate that around 7:50 p.m. on August 20, Parkes was at his home when an argument broke out between him and his 24-year-old cousin over the bath pan.
The minor domestic dispute escalated into violence when Parkes allegedly struck the younger man in the face with a shovel.
However, things reportedly got out of control when Parkes allegedly picked up a machete, and his cousin brandished a knife.
During the struggle, the 24-year-old allegedly pierced Parkes in the right side of his chest with a knife.
Concerned residents assisted Parkes to the Kingston Public Hospital, where the authorities pronounced him deceased.

The St. Mary police have launched an investigation into a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred along the Tower Isle main road on Sunday.
The authorities said the tragic accident claimed the life of a 30-year-old man and left several others injured.
According to the police, shortly after 7:00 p.m., a Honda CR-V traveling from Port Maria towards Ocho Rios collided head-on with a Toyota Succeed. The Toyota was traveling in the opposite direction towards Columbus Avenue.
The driver of the Toyota sustained serious injuries. Firefighters from the Port Maria Fire Department had to extricate him from the wreckage. Hospital authorities later pronounced him deceased upon arrival.
Law enforcement officials have not revealed the identity of the deceased as they work to locate his spouse.
Two children who were passengers in the Toyota Succeed sustained non-life threatening injuries. Emergency responders transported the children to the Port Maria hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Honda CR-V and his female passenger sustained injuries. Emergency responders transported both of them to the hospital as well.
Superintendent Anthony Wallace, leader of the St. Mary Police Division, shared that they are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
