Tragic Domestic Dispute Involving Police Officer in St. Mary. Law enforcement officials and the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) are investigating a suspected murder and attempted suicide case. Authorities stated that the incidents occurred in St. Mary, Jamaica, on the night of Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
Police say the tragic domestic dispute took place in the Essex district. It involved a police constable and his girlfriend.
Reports indicated that the constable, assigned to the St. Andrew North division, used his Glock service pistol to fatally shoot the woman.
Authorities identified the deceased in the tragic domestic dispute as 21-year-old D’Johnnay Graham, also known as Moya. She was an assistant teacher employed at Beecham Hill Infant and Primary School in St Mary, Jamaica.
The police theorized that the cop had allegedly shot Graham. Then, he turned the gun on himself. He allegedly inflicted a wound to his head.
Unconfirmed reports indicated that the tragic domestic dispute started with a quarrel earlier in the day. The dispute was about a telephone call Graham received. They were in Kingston at the time.
The argument reportedly intensified upon their return home.
Eyewitnesses stated that the couple was on their veranda when the incident occurred.
Residents reportedly heard explosions at approximately 9:15 p.m. and alerted the police.
The police responded to the scene of the tragic domestic dispute. Upon their arrival, they found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officers rushed the injured couple to the Port Maria Hospital. Tragically, the authorities pronounced Graham dead on arrival and admitted the constable for treatment.
The constable remains in the hospital under police guard.
The tragic domestic dispute has left the Essex community in a state of bewilderment. Fellow police officers are also wondering what could have gone wrong.
