ST JAMES, Jamaica — Detectives in St. James arrested and charged a male suspect after he allegedly choked his brother to death during a domestic dispute over bills.
The police charged Dailando Bailey, age 24, a lifeguard from Catherine Mount in St. James, with the murder of his 30-year-old brother, Oshaine Bailey.
According to the Mount Salem police, the brothers were at home on Tuesday, September 12, when an argument developed between them. Things escalated into a physical altercation, during which Dailando put a choke hold on his brother until he was unresponsive.
Hospital authorities pronounced Oshaine dead on arrival.
Dailando, consumed with guilt and shame for killing his brother, took himself to the police station and reported the unfortunate incident. The police arrested and subsequently charged him after a question-and-answer session.

The police charged Sharon ‘Taneisha’ Thompsom, age 42, a resident of Farm Heights, Montego Bay, St James, with the murder of Domonic Poirier, otherwise called ‘White Guy’, of the Rhyne Park section of Farm Heights.
According to a release from the Montego Bay police at about 7:15 a.m., Poirier and Thompson had a dispute, and she used a knife and inflicted stab wounds to his upper body.
Hospital authorities pronounced Poirier dead on arrival.
The police arrested and subsequently charged Thompson. Her court date is pending.
His court appearance date is pending.
