The Westmoreland police have launched a search for a group of hoodlums who allegedly robbed a financial institution in the parish of over $ 1,000,000 Friday morning, September 15, 2023. 

According to reporting, hoodlums armed with one rifle and two handguns held up and robbed the National Parish Co-op Credit Union on Main Street in Grange Hill.

The police said at about 9:20 a.m., a grey sedan motor car with armed men aboard pulled up at the front of the credit union.

Three men, one armed with a rifle and two with handguns, alighted and entered the premises and ordered the manager to open the vault.

Fearing for his life, the manager complied, and the robbers made off with $1.3 in cash.

The police have since launched an investigation.

Thugs gunned down a chef in Westmoreland.

Gumshoes in Westmoreland have launched an investigation into the fatal shooting of a chef at a bar in Savanna-la-mar on Thursday, September 14, 2023, by hoodlums traveling on a motorcycle. 

The police identified the deceased as 37-year-old Glenroy McNaughton of Darliston, Westmoreland.

According to reports, at about 8:40 p.m., McNaughton was at a bar in the Dunbar’s River section of Savanna-la-Mar when armed men traveling on a motorcycle pulled up and opened fire at him.

McNaughton reportedly ran, but the men chased and shot him before escaping.

The police transported the injured man to the hospital, where he died.

The police did not establish a motive for the killing.

The police are investigating.

Thursday’s deadly gun attack occurred twenty-four hours after thugs shot and killed Milton Campbell, age 44, a laborer of Morass district in Whithorn, Westmoreland.
