A suspect is in custody for Elgin Street murder on February 9
Law and Order: Cops charged two and Detained Three in Jamaica. Detectives in Western Kingston, Jamaica, charged a suspect with multiple gun-related charges, including murder. The police said the charges are in connection with the February 9, 2025, fatal shooting along Elgin Street in Kingston.
Investigators identified the accused as Kemar Miller, 25, of Oakland, Kingston 11.
Law and order agents charged Miller with murder and possession of a prohibited weapon. They also charged him with unauthorized possession of ammunition and using a firearm to commit a felony.
Authorities identified the deceased as 53-year-old Barrington Campbell of Elgin Street, Denham Town, Kingston 14.
According to the Denham Town police, at about 4:50 p.m., Campbell was sitting at his gate when Miller allegedly attacked him. Then, he opened fire, hitting Campbell multiple times all over his body before fleeing the scene.
Concerned residents assisted Campbell to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced him dead.
Law and order agents launched an investigation, which led them to arrest Miller.
The arresting officers formally charged Miller on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
His court appearance date is pending.
Law and order agents charged a Port Antonio man for assaulting a police constable
A Port Antonio man is in police custody facing assault charges. He allegedly struck a police constable in the face on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

The authorities identified the accused as Sanjay Hamilton, 25, from Land Settlement, Port Antonio, in Portland.
Law and order agents charged Hamilton with assaulting a police constable.
Port Antonio cops stated that at about 11:25 a.m., Hamilton reportedly hit the constable in the face while the officer was in the process of arresting him.
The police eventually placed Hamilton in custody at the Port Antonio police station, where the authorities formally charged him.
Hamilton’s court appearance date is pending.
Authorities Investigate Pastor Linked to Missing Girl Case
Law and order officials have detained three individuals. They include a pastor.
The police said the detainees are being questioned about an alleged religious cult operating in Ewarton, St. Catherine.
This development follows the discovery of a 13-year-old girl from Four Paths, Clarendon. Her parents reported her missing on April 7, 2025.
Police officers from the National Strategic Anti-Gang Division discovered the teenager hiding under a bed in Ewarton.
Deputy Superintendent Susan Bruce, Commanding Officer for the Division, said an aunt of the missing girl occupied the property.
She described the child’s aunt as “the mastermind” behind the case.
According to Bruce, investigators are exploring a potential link to a local religious cult. But she did not give any supporting details.
