Cedrick Wilkins, a 55-year-old welder from Bounty Hall, Trelawny, is facing legal trouble after allegedly intervening in a heated money dispute to defend his wife. On March 18, Wilkins reportedly grabbed a broomstick and struck another man in the face, resulting in three broken teeth.

According to the Wakefield Police, the incident unfolded around 2 PM when a man confronted the owner of a local shop about money she allegedly owed him. Overhearing the confrontation, Wilkins, who is the woman’s spouse, went to her aid armed with a broomstick.

The police claim that Wilkins used the broomstick to hit the man, leading to his injuries. Residents assisted the injured man to the hospital, where the authorities admitted him.

Following his release from the hospital on March 20, the complainant reported the incident to the police.

As a result, the police launched an investigation. And on September 2, 2026, investigators arrested and charged Cedrick Wilkins with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

Investigators have yet to schedule a court appearance date for Cedrick Wilkins.

According to the police, the sad incident occurred around 6:55 PM, after Pearce got into an argument with two other girls. Unfortunately, the dispute escalated, into a brawl, during which Pearce allegedly sustained multiple knife wounds.

Emergency crews quickly transported her to hospital, but it was too late to save her. The poor child succumbed to her injuries upon arrival at the hospital.

In the meantime, the police have launched an investigation and taken one of the girls involved into custody.
