A St Cathrine Parish Court Judge remanded Peter Walters, a Tractor operator from St Catherine, until March 31 when he appeared before the St Catherine Parish Court on Friday, March 24, 2023.

The police arrested Walters last year after he confessed to stabbing his wife to death during an altercation in August 2022.

According to the police report, at about 2:00 am on August 26, 2022, Peter Walters went to the house he shared with his wife, Nikeisha DaCosta-Walters, in Berkshire Hall District, St Catherine.

And sometime after getting home, the couple got into an altercation during which her husband, Peter Walters, used a knife to stab her more than 20 times.

Walters left the victim, drove to the Linstead police station, and surrendered to the police.

The police charged him with murder upon completion of their investigation.

A rival gang shooting off Red Hills Road in St Andrew left one dead.

A man met his demise during a gun battle between rival gangs off Red Hills Road, St Andrew, Friday morning, March 24, 2023.

According to residents in the community, the shooting was between thugs from 100 Lane and 104 Lane. The residents said the men were heavily armed. 

At the end of the exchange, a man in his 20s was found dead.

The police are actively investigating the incident.

Shopkeeper shot, injured in Pembroke Hall.

According to the St Andrew South police, a lone gunman posing as a customer shot and injured a 44-year-old female shopkeeper at her home in Pembroke Hall St Andrew on Thursday night, March 23, 2023.

The incident occurred at about 8 pm. The businesswoman was reportedly operating a shop on her veranda.

According to the officer in charge of operations in the St Andrew South Division, Coleridge Minto, The police are investigating the incident.

Minto said the woman got shot in her shoulder. And it appears the shooter shot her through her veranda grill while she was serving a customer. 

Man stabbed to death in Half Way Tree, St Andrew.

On Friday, March 24, 2023, at about 5:20 am, a man was fatally stabbed during an altercation with another man in Half Way Tree, St Andrew.

According to the information, the incident occurred near Hagley park road. And the deceased died on arrival at the hospital.

Senior Superintendent in charge of the St Andrew Central Police Division, Marlon Nesbeth, confirmed the stabbing and said the police recovered a knife from the scene soon after the incident.

The other man fled the scene, and the police requested that he turn himself in immediately.
