On Sunday morning, March 5, 2023, a lone shooter gunned down a Corporate Area businessman as he and his wife prepared meals for their restaurant.
The dead man was identified as Peter Green.

According to preliminary reports, at about 8:30 am, Green and his wife were cooking meals for sale at their restaurant on Grants Pen Road in St Andrew when two men pulled up on a bike. The pillion rider reportedly alighted, walked to the shop, then opened fire on the couple.
According to unconfirmed reports, the gunman allegedly shot Green eight times. And his wife was admitted to the hospital, suffering from injuries she sustained during the attack.

An armed police impersonator was chopped several times after allegedly invading a businessman’s home in Canaan, St James.

According to reports, at about 12:30 am Sunday, March 5, 2023, the suspect went to the shopkeeper’s home and knocked on the door while saying, “police.” The shopkeeper glanced through a window and saw a man standing at the door with a gun. He recognized the attacker as somebody he had argued with earlier.
He recognized his attacker from an argument the two had earlier.
The impersonator kicked, but the homeowner refused to budge. The attacker then shot off the lock and entered the house, firing shots at the shopkeeper. At this point, the homeowner had armed himself with a machete. He used it to chop the intruder several times.
The suspect ran from the house in the bushes. But later, he turned up at the hospital for treatment. He is now under police guard in the Cornwall Reginal Hospital.
The detectives from Adelphi police station are investigating.
