Gun Related Violence: Police Charged Three in separate Shootings

Law Enforcement Killed Two and Hunt Four in Separate Cases. On Saturday, March 22, 2025, Jamaican cops shot and killed a suspect during a confrontation in New Haven St Andrew. The victim, whom police referred to as a gangster, allegedly shot at officers with an Intratec sub-machine gun.

Gun Related Violence: Police Charged Three Suspects in separate Shootings. On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, detectives assigned to the Kingston Central PD in Jamaica charged an outlaw named ‘Forty Ball.’ The police said the suspect had been on their wanted list for more than a year. This was in connection with a November 2023 shooting on Lissant Road in Kingston.

Authorities said ’40 Ball’ real name is Kemarley Lewis, and he is a resident of the Lissant Road community.

Gun related violence: The police charged Lewis with assault at common law. They also charged him with using a firearm to commit a felony. Additionally, he was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

According to the Kingston Central Police, at approximately 9:30 a.m. on the day of the shooting, Lewis entered a premises. Moments later, he brandished a firearm and fired two rounds in the direction of two men before escaping.

Fortunately, no one was injured. The complainants filed a report with the police, who launched an investigation.

After over a year, the police finally apprehended Lewis during an operation.

They formally charged him on March 4, after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

Lewis’s court appearance date is pending.

Gun related violence: On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, detectives from the St. Andrew South Police Division in Jamaica charged a suspected gangster. Police believe this person is a high-ranking member of the 33-Lane gang.

Gun Related Violence: Alleged gangster 'Luther' charged for Waltham Park murder

Authorities identified the accused as Andrew Watson, 38, also known as ‘Luther,’ a farmer from Waltham Park Road.

Investigators charged Watson in connection with the brutal murder of 21-year-old Johnathan Martin, also known as ‘JJ,’ a laborer from Waltham Park Road.

According to police reports, on Friday, January 10, 2025, at around 8:00 p.m., Watson, accompanied by several accomplices, went to Martin’s residence. The men confronted Martin and demanded that he leave the area.

Gun related violence: When Martin resisted, the men allegedly attacked and beat him repeatedly with boards. Then, they chased him along Brotherton Avenue, where they fatally wounded him.

The hoodlums later fled the scene on motorcycles.

Law enforcement responded. Upon arrival, they found Martin’s body on the roadway with gunshot wounds to the head and leg.

Responding officers transported the wounded man to the hospital, where the medical staff pronounced him dead.

Investigators later arrested Watson. They formally charged him on March 4, 2025, after an interview in the presence of his lawyer.

His court appearance date is pending.

Detectives assigned to the St. Andrew South PD in Jamaica charged a suspect with the fatal shooting of a man along Cinnamon Crescent in February.

Law enforcement identified the deceased as 27-year-old Warren Grant, otherwise called ‘Zeeks,’ of Hill Avenue in Kingston 11.

The accused is Jason Munroe, otherwise called ‘Moonie,’ 26, a businessman from Kingsley Avenue and Lemon Lane in St Andrew.

Gun related violence: The police charged Munroe with murder, wounding with intent, and multiple firearm-related offenses.

According to the police, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Grant was sitting along a section of Cinnamon Crescent. Munroe approached him, brandished a handgun, and opened fire at Grant.

Grant ran from the scene, but Munroe chased and shot him multiple times, causing him to collapse.

Reportedly, a man who witnessed the shooting threw a stone at Munroe.

In response, Munroe reportedly opened fire and hit the witness in the abdomen before fleeing in a waiting vehicle.

Law enforcement responded and transported the injured men to the hospital, where Grant succumbed to his injuries. The authorities admitted the other man in stable condition.

The police launched an investigation that led to Munroe’s arrest. Investigators formally charged Munroe after an interview in the presence of his lawyer on Tuesday, March 4.

Munroe’s court appearance date is pending.
