Business owner shot alleged fuel thief in St Mary
Law and Crime Report. A licensed firearm holder shot and injured a suspect. The suspect allegedly attempted to steal fuel from a parked tractor-trailer. This occurred at a business along Wharf Road in Oracabessa, St Mary. It happened early Saturday morning, February 1, 2025.
According to the police, the businessman arrived at his place of business at about 5:15 a.m. While conducting routine premises checks, he observed the suspect attempting to siphon fuel from the vehicle.
The businessman reportedly confronted the thief, who allegedly attacked him with a piece of iron.
In fear for his life, the businessman reportedly discharged his licensed firearm in self-defense, and the man fled the scene.

He stated that the injured thief showed up at the Port Maria Hospital soon after the incident. The thief was suffering from a single gunshot wound.
Hospital authorities admitted him in serious but stable condition under police guard.
The suspect reportedly told hospital officials that an unidentified person shot him as he walked along Wharf Road.
Investigators from the Port Maria Criminal Investigations Branch have launched an investigation into the incident.
Law and crime report for St Catherine: Police hunt senior citizen attacker
The police in St. Catherine are searching for a female suspect. She allegedly attacked and stabbed a senior citizen multiple times. The incident occurred at the victim’s Innswood, Spanish Town, St. Catherine home.
Reports indicated that on Thursday, January 30, the senior citizen was at home. A female working with the victim’s family requested a favor, but the complainant disagreed.
As a result, the suspect reportedly became angry. She attacked the senior citizen with a knife. The attacker inflicted stab wounds to the victim’s jaw, back, leg, and shoulders.
Residents swiftly rushed the injured victim to the Spanish Town Hospital, where the authorities admitted her.
The 70-year-old victim remains in the hospital.
The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch is probing the incident.
Law and crime report for St Catherine: Former choir director sentenced for sexual assault
On Friday, a St Catherine Circuit Court Justice sentenced a former church choir director to six years and two months in prison.

Justice Yvonne Brown handed the sentence after the unnamed accused pleaded guilty to having carnal knowledge with a minor under 16.
The child’s parents had entrusted the choir director to take the child to choir practice.

Brown stated that the convict had broken the trust of the child and her parents and that his actions had harmed the victim.
Facts indicate that the man, a family friend of the victim, was supposed to take the minor to choir practice but instead diverted to his home. Then he had sex with her, after which they went to church.
The child’s parents reported the crime to the police’s Center for Investigation of Sexual Offenses and Child Abuse.
Law enforcement later arrested and charged the accused.
He took a guilty plea last year and was remanded until his sentencing on Friday.
