Police fatally shot a motorist in Manchester after allegedly mowing down two people.

An off-duty policeman took decisive action by fatally shooting a man who had callously mowed down a 16-year-old boy and a 25-year-old man in Asia, south Manchester, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

The individual, identified as Kemar Clarke, 24, a mason from Lancaster district, became embroiled in a heated argument with a group of men at Winston Jones High School just after the conclusion of the annual Fun Day. Clarke then callously drove his vehicle, a white Toyota Axio, into the two victims, injuring them and damaging two motorbikes.

Reports reveal that an off-duty policeman intervened and attempted to stop the reckless actions of Clarke, who allegedly directed his vehicle towards the officer. The policeman forced to take evasive action, responded by opening fire, leading to the tragic demise of Clarke.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is actively investigating this harrowing incident, striving to uncover the full truth behind this disturbing event.

Authorities Call for Increased Vigilance After Fatal Stabbing at Negril Transport Centre.

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica—A 51-year-old vendor, Sandra Haseley, was brutally murdered at the Negril Transportation Centre. The police are asking business owners to be more careful when working in the area. They confirmed that Haselely, who sold fruits and clothing, was robbed and stabbed in the neck. She later died from her injuries.

“We want to urge business owners to be watchful in the area,” cautioned DSP Shaunjaye Mitchell.

He also advised residents and business owners to report strange incidents in the tourist hotspot.

DSP Mitchell added, “We also want to encourage citizens to report any suspicious activities or people in the area.”

Haseley had been selling at the transport center for many years and was well-liked. She bled heavily as vendors and others tried to help her and alerted the Negril police and paramedics, but unfortunately, they couldn’t save her.

The police chief also recommends that business owners use CCTV cameras, as they can sometimes scare off criminals.

DSP Mitchell also took the opportunity to ask citizens with information about Haseley’s murder to contact the police at 311 or 119 or to report to the nearest police station to help catch the person or people responsible.

Suspected Car Thief Fatally Shot by Police During Confrontation.

An unidentified man met his demise in a reported police shootout on Thursday morning, March 28, 2024, after allegedly stealing a car in Guys Hill, St Catherine.

According to reports, at about 5:00 a.m., the police received information about several men spotted in a stolen car in the Mooreland community of Guys Hill.

Allegedly, while responding, the police came under fire from a group of gunmen. It is further claimed that the police took evasive action and returned fire.

As a group of individuals escaped in another vehicle, the unidentified man was discovered suffering from gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries. Additionally, a stolen motorcar was recovered at the scene.

Two Men Found Dead in Clarendon.

The bodies of two men were discovered in Banks, Clarendon on the afternoon of March 27, 2024.

The deceased men have been identified as 28-year-old Tevin Ofield, a laborer from Gimmi-Me-Bit, and 24-year-old Brandon Thompson from Race Course, both in the parish.

According to reports, residents alerted the police about gunfire in the Common Top area of Banks district around 3:45 p.m.

The men’s bodies were found with gunshot wounds, several meters apart in the surrounding bushes.

Additionally, approximately two pounds of cannabis was found in two knapsacks at the scene.
