Police held soldier at Sangster Airport with more than US$40,000.

The 15-year-old Trelawny girl assaulted in a home invasion died.

Sadly, the 15-year-old girl who was among three female thugs raped and beaten during a house invasion in Cotton Tree District, Albert Town, Trelawny, has succumbed to her injuries while getting treatment in the hospital.

Happy 61st Birthday, Jamaica!

Jamaica gained independence from the United Kingdom on August 6, 1962 after more than 300 years of British colonial rule. The island became an imperial colony in 1509 when Spain conquered the Indigenous Taino people.
