The St Catherine South Police Division has released the names and aliases of several individuals detectives in the division would like to have a dialogue with. The police are requesting that the men report to the Portmore Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) for questioning concerning a series of violent crimes, such as murder, shooting, and arson, committed in the communities of Gregory Park and Banga Gully.
The police highlighted the recent double murder on Sunday, August 6, 2023, where a male and a female got shot by thugs in the Watson Grove community.
The male victim died while the female was in the hospital receiving treatment.
The police have released the names of those they wish to speak with, believing they may assist in shedding light on the crimes:
Thugs from the Gregory Park area:
- Phillip Scott, otherwise called ‘Phillip’ or ‘Trooper.’
- Collin Stoner, otherwise called ‘Trees.’
- Giovanni Newell, otherwise called ‘Gio.’
- ‘Rasta Mouse’
- ‘Chad’
Thugs from Banga Gully:
- Ryan Muir, otherwise called ‘Titti Man.’
- Nigel
- Bwoy Bwoy
The individuals the police named should turn themselves in to the Portmore CIB by midday on Monday, August 7.
The police will handle all information they receive with the utmost confidentiality.
Popular Westmoreland businessman shot dead in Hanover.
HANOVER, Jamaica- Hanover police reported that on Saturday, August 5, 2023, armed thugs gunned down a popular Westmoreland businessperson in Ginger Hill, Kingsvale, Hanover.
They identified the deceased as Dhavesh Mahtani, o/c ‘Bob,’ age 30, from West End in Negril.
According to reporting, on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at about 5:30 pm, Mahtani, who operated the One Spot Supermarket and Haberdashery in Ginger Hill, was behind the counter at his business establishment when two men rode up on a motorcycle. The pillion dismounted and entered the supermarket.
The Police said the thug fired three shots at Mahtani–hitting him in the upper body. Then, the thug escaped on the waiting motorcycle.
Concerned citizens alerted the Police.
The Police responded and rushed Mahtani to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced him dead.
The Police did not gather enough evidence to establish a motive for the killing. An investigation is in progress.
