The Bog Walk police reported that thugs shot and killed a female and injured her male cousin in the community Sunday morning, August 6, 2023.

The police identified the dead woman as Shelisa Hylton, age 31, a late laborer of August Town in Bog Walk, St Catherine.

According to reporting, at about 3:30 am, Hylton and her cousin sat in a parked motor car along the Crawl Main Road in Riversdale, St Catherine, and unknown assailants pounced upon them and opened fire–hitting the woman and her cousin.

The police rushed the victims to the hospital, where Hylton died, and the authorities admitted the cousin for treatment. 

The police did not establish a motive for the fatal attack. The Bog Walk police are investigating.

Police arrested five men in Hanover after a gun seizure.

Law enforcement officers assigned to Lucea Police Station reported the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition during an operation in Cousins Cove, Lances Bay, Hanover, on Sunday, August 6, 2023.

According to the police report, a police patrol conducted an operational response in the communities surrounding Green Island following a murder incident.

During the operation, the police accosted patrons at a bar. And one man fled–leaving a .38 revolver with two .38 rounds behind.

The police seized the weapon and took five men into custody pending investigations.

Hanover peace march delayed after man killed along march route.

HANOVER, Jamaica — The Hanover police reported that a man was shot and killed on McQuarrie Road, in Hopewell, Hanover, on Sunday, August 6, 2023, one hour before the start of a scheduled peace march. 

According to reporting, The police identified the dead man as Adrian Williams, age 21, a laborer of an unknown address. The bullet landed in his face at approximately 3:00 pm, along the peace march route on McQuarrie Road. 

The shooting prompted organizers to change the starting point of the peace march from McQuarrie Road to Bamboo Drive.
