On this day, June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas and announced that more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in the state were free. The newly freed people in Texas called this day "Juneteenth".

Police charged ‘Rat’ with four felonies concerning Cocoa Piece home invasion shooting.

The Clarendon police reported that they have arrested and charged Rushane Williams, o/c 'Rat,' 'Ratty,' and 'Rat Face,' age 32, of Sauni District, Clarendon, with wounding with intent, and several breaches of the Firearms Act.
