Police listed Jashii as person of interest in a Grants Pen Murder.

Detectives attached to the St Andrew North Police have listed Dancehall artist Jashii as a person of interest concerning a murder committed in Grant’s Pen community, St Andrew, on June 7, 2023.

The police identified the deceased as Omar Wright, o/c ‘Romie,’ age 45, a businessman. According to Nationwide, Wright is the brother of the alleged so-called Don of the Grant’s Pen community.

According to media reports, at about 10:40 pm June 7, 2023, thugs shot and killed Wright along Shortwood Road, St Andrew, hours after a heated exchange with Jashii’s mother at her wholesale business.

The police said Jashii had allegedly confronted Wright for disrespecting his mom, and a war of words ensued. The police said not long after, armed thugs confronted Wright at his business place on Shortwood Road and shot him several times. 

According to the grapevine, Wright’s brother lives abroad and has pledged a reprisal.

Officer in charge of St Andrew South police, Superintendent Sherika Service, told the media on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 that the Grant’s Pen community has been tense since the incident. She said it is important that the police speak with Jashii.

Armed thugs gunned down a bee farmer in Norwood, St James.

The Montego Bay police have reported that on Monday evening, June 19, 2023, armed thugs shot and killed a Bee Farmer in Hendon, Norwood, St James.

The police identified the deceased as Kenute McKenzie, age 63, a Bee Farmer, late resident of Hendon, Norwood, St James.  

According to the reporting, at about 6:30 pm, on June 19, 2023, residents heard loud explosions like gunshots in a section of the community and alerted the police. 

Upon arrival, the police found McKenzie’s lifeless bullet-riddled body lying in a pool of blood along a dirt track leading to his Bee farm.

The police processed the scene and transported the body to the morgue. 

The police did not determine a motive for the murder.
