The Clarendon police reported that they have arrested and charged Rushane Williams, o/c ‘Rat,’ ‘Ratty,’ and ‘Rat Face,’ age 32, of Sauni District, Clarendon, with wounding with intent, and several breaches of the Firearms Act, concerning a shooting incident in Cocoa Piece, on January 25, 2023.
The police slapped Williams with the following charges:
Wounding with intent.
Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon. Unauthorized possession of ammunition.
Using a prohibited weapon to commit a felony.
According to the complainant, Williams was allegedly part of a group of men who invaded a man’s home at about 5:30 am on January 25, 2023, in Cocoa Piece, searching for another relative.
The police said the thugs did not find the person they were looking for, but they opened fire on the complainant and escaped on foot.
A concerned party summoned the police. They transported the injured man to the hospital, where the authorities treated him.
The police launched an investigation which led them to arrest Williams on June 9, 2023. The police charged Williams with four felonies after the complainant pointed him out on an identification parade on June 15, 2023.
His court appearance date is pending.
