WESTMORELAND, Jamaica— Gum Shoes assigned to the Area One Major Investigations Division are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and a woman in Frome, Westmoreland, on Friday night, June 16, 2023.

The police identified the deceased as Michael Johns, o/c ‘Robert,’ age 51, a carpenter of Baulk district, Westmoreland, and Vivene Brown, age 20, of Prospect district, also of Westmoreland.

According to a police release, on Friday, June 16, 2023, at about 4:00 pm, Johns and Brown were at home when a lone thug approached them and opened fire, hitting the couple multiple times.

Concerned residents summoned the police to the scene. Upon arrival, they transported both persons to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced Johns dead and admitted Brown for treatment.

Brown would later succumb to her injuries.

Unknown thugs gunned down St Ann business person and stole their glock. 

ST ANN, Jamaica – Unknown assailants gunned down a St Ann businessperson and stole their licensed firearm Sunday morning, June 18, 2023. 

The police identified the deceased as Andrew Dawkins, age 41, of Gully Road, St Ann’s Bay, St Ann.

According to a preliminary police release, Dawkins was in his community when armed thugs approached him and opened fire, hitting him multiple times.

The gunmen reportedly stole the deceased licensed 9MM Glock pistol before escaping.

Concerned citizens summoned the police to the scene. Upon arrival, the police assisted the victim to the hospital, where authorities pronounced him dead.

The St Ann’s Bay police are investigating.
