Jamaican Cops Crack Down Counterfeit Currency and fake guns. On Sunday, June 21, 2025, police in Green Island, Hanover, Jamaica, arrested a hotel worker. The worker allegedly entered a guest’s room and swapped their cash with counterfeit US currency.
Jamaican cops identified the accused as O’ Brian Sittal. He is also known as ‘OB,’ and is 32 years old. He is a server of Spot Valley, Little River, St James, Jamaica.
The police charged Sittal with two counts of possession of counterfeit currency notes.
Police reports from Green Island indicate that in June, several hotel guests reported a problem. Their money had been switched with counterfeit notes while left in their rooms.
The hotel’s management launched an investigation that led them to fingered Sittal as the culprit.
They accosted him at work. During a search, they found $100 USD, four $50 USD, and eighteen $20 USD. All the bills bore the same serial number and were in his possession.
The Jamaican cops responded and took Sittal to his house, where they conducted a search.
During the search, officers reportedly discovered seventy-five $100 USD and three $50 USD counterfeit notes. They also found twenty $10 USD and twenty $5 USD counterfeit notes. Along with these, Jamaican and Canadian currencies were found in a shoe box in his bedroom.
Investigators took the accused man into custody, formally charged him
He is scheduled to appear in the Green Island Parish Court on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
Jamaican cops arrested two brothers with firearms in St Thomas
Jamaican cops arrested two brothers in the Wheeler’s field district near Golden Grove in St Thomas. They allegedly seized two firearms. The authorities stated that the seizure occurred on Monday morning, June 23, 2025, during a joint police and military operation.

The Morant Bay police reported that the operation began at approximately 5:30 a.m. It involved members from various units within the Jamaica Constabulary Force and the Jamaica Defense Force.
While searching the targeted premises in the community, the security forces reportedly seized one .38 revolver and a homemade shotgun.
As a result, the Jamaican cops arrested two men who identified themselves as brothers. But the authorities have withheld their names pending further investigations.
The police urged citizens to report suspicious activities and illegal weapons to the nearest police station.
In Yallahs, St Thomas, the police took action. They arrested a videographer. This arrest occurred after they seized three imitation firearms during an operation at his home.
A detective who is involved in the investigations stated that criminals often use imitation firearms to intimidate or commit crimes. So, they are taken seriously under the new Firearms Act.
The Jamaican cop added more details. People who wish to use an imitation firearm as a prop must have a special permit. They also need a registered business.
