The jealous cop who the authorities charged with murder after the shooting death of his girlfriend during a dispute has pleaded guilty. The incident occurred at the victim’s home in Richmond, St Mary, in June 2025.
Initially, investigators charged Police Constable Patrick Walters, 24, with murder. But he pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of manslaughter and using a firearm to commit a felony. This happened when he appeared in the St Mary Circuit Court on Friday.
The court bound over jealous cop to return to court on September 25, for sentencing.
Detectives had charged the jealous cop in connection with the shooting death of 20-year-old D’Jonnay Graham on June 25, 2025.
According to the facts before the court, at about 9:15 p.m., on June 25, 2025, a jealous constable Walters visited Graham at home. While there, a dispute developed between the couple.
During the dispute, a jealous and irate constable Walters allegedly removed his service revolver from his waistban and discharged it, hitting the woman. Then he allegedly turned the gun on himself.
The jealous cop let his emotions ruin his life.
Concerned neighbors alerted the police. Upon arrival, the responding officers found the jealous cop and Graham suffering from gunshot wounds.
The officers quickly transported the couple to the Port Maria Hospital, where the authorities pronounced Graham dead on arrival.
Later, hospital authorities admitted the jealous cop for treatment.
Investigators launched a probe into the bizarre incident. Afterward, they submitted their findings to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, (ODPP).

On July 17, 2025, the ODPP ruled that the jealous cop should be charged with the offenses of murder and using a firearm to commit a felony.
