According to the Portmore police, who have jurisdiction over Greater Portmore, the incident took place around 12:45 PM on July 22. The complainant, a woman, was standing at a bus stop in Greater Portmore. At that time, the suspects approached her and initiated a conversation.
During the conversation, the men allegedly claimed the woman resembled someone who is involved in a serious crime. This highlights the importance of staying alert in public spaces.
Then, one of the men reportedly instructed the woman to hand over her cellular phone. At the same time, the other man allegedly removed a firearm from his waistband and pointed it at the woman. Fearing for her life, the helpless woman had no choice. She complied and handed over the phone to the robbers. Afterwards, the alleged robbers fled the scene on foot without harming the complainant.
The frightened complainant managed to gather self. Then she went to the Portmore police station, where she reported and reported the incident.
Police apprehended Bruce and May later that day in Half-Way Tree. The police said the complainant positively identified both men during an identification parade before they formally charged them.
