ST ANDREW, Jamaica—An investigation has been launched following the discovery of an unidentified deceased man in the middle of the Guava Gap main road in Stony Hill, St Andrew, on Tuesday afternoon, February 13, 2024.
According to reports, at approximately 1:30 p.m., motorists traveling on the Guava Gap Main Road in St Andrew came across the motionless body and promptly alerted the police.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement officers discovered the motionless body of a male individual lying face down in the middle of the road, displaying apparent gunshot wounds to the head.
The deceased was found wearing a multi-colored T-shirt, black shorts, black socks, and yellow and black slippers. He is of dark complexion and sports a low-cut hairstyle.
Four spent casings were recovered at the scene, and while the authorities have stated that it is too early to ascertain a motive, the investigation remains ongoing.

ST JAMES, Jamaica—A man whom the police had identified as a person of interest in a shooting incident is now wanted by the authorities after allegedly opening fire on two policemen on Monday night, February 12, 2024.
The suspect, known as Nicholas Palmer or ‘Budman,’ is accused of firing multiple shots at the law enforcement officers when they confronted him on Marl Road in Anchovy, St James.
According to the police report, at approximately 8:45 p.m., two policemen were on surveillance duty in the Marl Road community in an unmarked service vehicle that day.
Palmer, sought for questioning in connection to a case of shooting with intent, was spotted walking along the roadway in the opposite direction.
Upon sighting Palmer, the officers immediately stopped the vehicle, exited, and instructed him to halt.
Allegedly, Palmer then drew a firearm from his waistband and discharged it at the officers, who sought cover and returned fire. Palmer subsequently fled the area.
It is not clear if he was struck, but no members of the police party sustained injuries.
The police stated that no items of evidential value were recovered from the scene.

According to reports, at approximately 7 a.m., the Narcotics Police, supported by members of the Caribbean Search Centre, Area 1 Operation Support Team, and the Canine Division, conducted an operation in Salt Spring.
During the operation, a thorough search of a four-bedroom residence occupied by two individuals was executed. During the search, law enforcement agents discovered a multi-caliber submachine gun and a variety of documents containing the personal information and identities of overseas residents.
The individuals present at the residence were taken into custody under reasonable suspicion of violating the Firearms Act and the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act.
The authorities have chosen to withhold the identities of the suspects pending further investigation and the filing of formal charges.
A Trelawny woman wanted for burglary and stabbing of an ex-lover.
TRELAWNY, Jamaica—Law enforcement authorities have launched a search for the former girlfriend of a man who allegedly forcibly entered his residence on Peel Street in Falmouth, Trelawny, causing significant damage to the property and inflicting stab wounds on the man on the morning of Sunday, February 11, 2024.
The victim, a 25-year-old construction worker, was admitted to the hospital in serious condition.
According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. The victim, who had securely locked his residence and retired to bed, was awakened by loud knocking on his door and window.
Upon investigating, he encountered his ex-girlfriend, who reportedly unswervingly forced her way into the premises, wielding a pair of scissors and inflicting stab wounds upon the victim’s left chest and right palm.
Following the assault, the suspect fled on foot from the area. The injured individual was then taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Authorities estimate the cost of the damage to the window and door to be around $16,000.
US fraud investigator held with ammo at MoBay airport.
ST JAMES, Jamaica—A U.S. fraud investigator visiting Jamaica was apprehended after a quantity of ammunition was discovered in her possession at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James, on Monday, February 12, 2024.
The 39-year-old woman, whose identity has not been disclosed by the police pending formal charges, hails from Charlotte, North Carolina in the United States.
Reportedly, at approximately 1:05 p.m., the woman was about to board a flight to Fort Lauderdale, Florida when her black suitcase underwent a search.
During the inspection, law enforcement officers found four rounds of ammunition. The bullets were confiscated, and the authorities were notified.
The foreign national has been detained pending further inquiries, as stated by the police.
