Authorities have identified the suspect as Kevon Beckford, also called “Fago”, 32. He is a Taxi operator from Pear Hill district, Stony Hill, St Andrew.
According to the St Andrew North police, a team of officers conducted a targeted operation early Wednesday to locate Beckford.
The police apprehended Beckford at his home without incident. But noted that they recovered one grey .38 revolver with its serial number erased during a search of the premises.
Investigators subsequently charged Beckford with possession of a prohibited weapon.
Furthermore, police said they have intelligence linking Beckford to various criminal activities in Stony Hill and surrounding communities.
The firearm seizure brings the total number of firearms recovered in the St. Andrew North division to 23 since the start of the year.
