KINGSTON, Jamaica—The authorities have confirmed the identities of the three individuals who lost their lives in a violent shooting incident on Wild Street in East Kingston on Monday afternoon.

The deceased are Sabian Clarke, 23, from Windward Road; Troy Dennis, 20, from Wellington Street; and Marquise Morgan, 15. Clarke and Dennis succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while Morgan passed away in the hospital during treatment.
Reports indicate that a group, including the individuals who tragically lost their lives, was gathered along Wild Street around 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2024, when a Mark X motorcar pulled up alongside them. One of the occupants reportedly exited the vehicle and opened fire on the group before fleeing in the awaiting car.
Following the shooting, residents found four individuals, including two young students, with gunshot wounds. The condition of the second student remains unknown at this time.
The Kingston Easter police are investigating.

A devastating event unfolded as a student was fatally stabbed by a schoolmate in Manchester.
Akeilia White, a 20-year-old student at the Catholic College of Mandeville in Williamsfield, Manchester, was tragically stabbed to death on Monday morning by a fellow student at the institution.

The police have apprehended the 17-year-old boy in connection with the killing.
According to Radio Jamaica News, Akeilia was sitting in her classroom shortly before midday when she was viciously attacked and stabbed by her 17-year-old classmate.
Deputy Superintendent Carey Duncan, head of the Manchester Police, reported that another 17-year-old student sustained knife wounds in the incident and was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
DSP Duncan further explained that the tragic incident occurred around noon; Akeilia and other students were inside their classroom when a dispute arose over a missing phone and money.
He stated that the 17-year-old reportedly became agitated and ran to the nearby tuck shop.
Allegedly, he returned later with a knife, which he used to inflict the fatal wound to Akeilia’s chest.
The accused also reportedly stabbed the second student when he attempted to intervene.
According to Radio Jamaica News, the accused boy fled the scene, but concerned citizens pursued and apprehended him, turning him over to the police.
DSP Duncan stated that CIB detectives are currently questioning the suspect.
Man Allegedly Killed in Dispute with Sisters in Westmoreland.
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica—A tragic incident unfolded in Hertford on Sunday night, May 12, 2024, as a man lost his life during a purported domestic dispute involving one of his sisters.
The deceased, identified as Alwayne Beckford, also known as ‘Sheng,’ was 38 and worked as a laborer in the Hertford community.
According to the police report, Beckford was at home with his fiancé when a heated argument erupted between him and one of his female siblings.
During the altercation, three family members, including his sisters, allegedly threw stones at Beckford, resulting in a severe injury to the left side of his head. The wound bled profusely, and Beckford succumbed to his injuries after collapsing. He was rushed to the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the tragic events is ongoing.
