ST. CATHERINE, Jamaica: Police say gunmen shot and injured a 6-year-old boy and fatally shot a woman during an attack in Commodore, Linstead, on Friday morning. The authorities confirmed the senseless shooting occurred at about 8:30 a.m.
The innocent child remains in the hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Officials withheld the name of the deceased but said she was the mother of a police officer.
Head of the St Catherine North Police Acting Senior Superintendent Hopeton Nicholson says investigators are yet to prove a motive for the brutal attack.
But, he disclosed that the police have identified two persons of interest, Glendon ‘Bull’ Amos and a man known as ‘Six.’
The senior cop assured residents of Commodore that investigators would not stop until they brought the heartless culprits to justice.
Unprovoked Killing of Man Sitting in a Car on Barnett Street, Montego Bay.
ST JAMES, Jamaica: Law enforcement officials reported that an unprovoked assailant shot and killed a man in a motor vehicle on Barnett Street in Montego Bay on Thursday.
The authorities identified the deceased as Iky-Taul Wynter, o/c ‘Nathaniel,’ 28, a laborer of Kayton Lane, Mount Salem, in the parish.

According to reports, at about 5:05 p.m., Wynter was a passenger in a motor car when an armed man approached him. After a few moments, the brazen gunman allegedly opened gunfire, hitting Wynter in the upper body.
The police responded and found Wynter in agony lying on the ground with gunshot wounds.
The officers rushed Wynter to the hospital, where a member of the medical staff pronounced him dead.
Investigators are yet to pinpoint a motive for the senseless killing. The investigation continues.
Arrest and Charging of Manchester Teen for Stabbing: Case Update
MANCHESTER, Jamaica: Police arrested and charged a Manchester teen after he allegedly used a knife to inflict stab wounds on the complainant during a verbal Altercation.
Reportedly, the crime occurred along Green Street in Knockpatrick on June 28, 2024.
The authorities identified the accused as Sanjay Williams, 18, a laborer from Hillside Close in Manchester.

Investigators charged the teen with wounding with intent. His court appearance date is pending.
The allegation stated that at about 2:00 a.m., the complainant and relatives were at a party in the community when Williams approached him.
After a short conversation, Williams allegedly used a knife to inflict stab wounds to the side of the complainant.
Police responded to the crime scene and assisted the wounded man to the hospital.
On Tuesday, September 10, a law enforcement team apprehended the accused during an operation. Two days later, investigators formally charged him in the presence of his lawyer.
Westmoreland mechanic accused of fraudulent activities.
A 36-year-old mechanic, Leon Pryce, o/c ‘Chang’ of Culloden district, Whitehouse, Westmoreland, has been charged with simple larceny and fraudulent conversion after allegations of failing to replace a motor car engine despite receiving payment.
According to the police, on March 22, 2023, the complainant visited Pryce’s establishment and paid him $25,000 to replace a damaged engine in their Toyota Corolla motor car.
Upon returning at a later date to inspect the vehicle, the complainant discovered that the engine had not been replaced, and several tools and accessories were missing from the car.
The complainant promptly reported the incident to the police, leading to an extensive investigation. After more than a year, Pryce was arrested and charged on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
