Police Charged the Alleged Cop Killer in a Gas Station Robbery. On Monday, June 30, detectives from the Half Way Tree Police Department charged a suspect. The police accused the suspect of the fatal shooting of a Police Corporal during a gas station robbery in December 2024. Authorities identified the accused as Ornell Allen, also known as 'Nellie.' He is 32 years old and works as a taxi driver. He is from Westmore Gardens in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

The police identified the deceased as 35-year-old Derrick Clayton.

According to the police, at around 9:15 p.m., Clayton was walking along the road in his community when unknown assailants approached him and opened fire.

Residents rushed him to the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital, where the medical staff pronounced him dead.

The St. Ann’s Bay Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating the deadly shooting.

The authorities stated that at about 8:45 p.m., the two were reportedly among patrons at a bar near the Commodore Cemetery.

The couple was enjoying themselves. A man armed with a handgun approached and opened fire. He hit the couple and two other people multiple times.

The gunman then escaped on foot.

Law enforcement officers responded and assisted the wounded to the Linstead Hospital for treatment. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

The police have yet to prove a motive for the shooting.

Police in Manchester, Jamaica, are investigating a stabbing incident that landed a 22-year-old man in the hospital in critical condition.

The authorities reported that the tragic incident reportedly occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, in the Willowgate Plaza, Mandeville.

The alleged suspect is in police custody.

Unconfirmed reports indicated that the victim and the suspect had an altercation on the second floor of the plaza.

During the melee, the suspect allegedly used a knife and inflicted multiple stab wounds to the victim’s neck.

The victim reportedly ran and collapsed near the main road.

The police responded and assisted the victim to the hospital, where the medical staff admitted him in serious condition.
