Investigators have identified the owner of the vehicle. They have also identified the name of the person who was driving the vehicle. Authorities name the suspect Dillon Reid, o/c ‘Bulby’ or ‘CJ,’ of Blackshop in Amity Hall, St James. This information is pivotal in understanding the hit-and-run.
Manhunt launched for suspect in police hit-and-run
The St. James police have commenced a search to locate Dillion Reid, also known as “Bulby” and “CJ,” from Amity Hall. Authorities believe Reid was involved in a hit-and-run incident. This incident resulted in the injury of a police officer on Friday afternoon.
In an official statement, the police described Reid as the driver of the vehicle. The vehicle was responsible for striking a police constable in Granville, St. James. The unfortunate hit-and-run incident occurred at approximately 3:10 p.m.
The police continue their efforts to locate Reid, who resides in Blackshop, Amity Hall, in St. James as they investigate the hit-and-run.
Reid is wanted for the attempted murder of the police constable. The officer remains hospitalized in critical condition due to the hit-and-run.
Superintendent Eron Samuels indicated that officers were conducting a traffic stop on the Granville main road near St. Johns Street when one officer signaled for a white Toyota Probox to halt. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated and struck the officer. The impact from the hit-and-run propelled the officer over a precipice approximately 50-70 feet deep.
Nearby officers rescued the constable from the precipice while he was unconscious. They swiftly transported him to the Cornwall Regional Hospital. Hospital officials have confirmed that he is in critical but stable condition after the hit-and-run.
The investigation led police to theorize that the vehicle was transporting illegal weapons. This occurred during the hit-and-run incident.
The police are urging the public to help in their efforts to locate Reid, the hit-and-run suspect.
