The police arrested the suspect after seizing a large quantity of cannabis-infused products, from a house he occupied. The products included 200 cannabis candies.

According to reports, at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, police officers from the St. Mary division and agents from the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division conducted a targeted operation in the Tower Isle community.

Acting on information, the law enforcement agents searched a three-bedroom concrete house in the Prospect section of the community.

During the search, the law enforcement agents discovered the cache of cannabis candies and other cannabis-infused products.

Besides the cannabis candies, law enforcement discovered 17 sugar cane candies labeled “High Vibes.” They also found several packets of edible cannabis products. There were nine packets and 11 cups of compressed ganja strains. Officers discovered seven saucers containing loose ganja. They also found bottles and containers of rum infused with ganja.

The officers also seized a package of cannabis-infused Tic Tac candies. They also seized a bottle labeled “Island Spice Hot Wing Sauce” infused with cannabis.

Agents arrested the lone occupant at the house at the time of the operation. They listed his age as 46, and have withheld the identity of the suspect until further investigations unfold.

Law enforcement officials have cautioned the public that selling and distributing ganja-infused edibles is illegal under Jamaican law. Furthermore, these edibles, or ganja candies are known to cause significant health risks, especially to minors.
