Police Officer in Critical Condition After Fraser Avenue Shooting. A Police Officer reportedly attached to the Spanish Town Police Department was hospitalized in critical condition Thursday night. A lone gunman opened gunfire on him outside his house in Fraser Avenue, West Port, St. Catherine.
Unconfirmed reports show Thursday night, November 7, at about 10:00 p.m., a Police Sergeant was at his home on Fraser Avenue.
Someone in a white motorcar called him outside. The Police Officer responded and walked toward the car, indicating he knew the person.
Upon reaching his gate, a man exited the vehicle and opened gunfire, hitting the Police Sergeant multiple times.
Concerned persons assisted the Sergeant to the hospital, where the authorities admitted him in critical condition.
Reportedly, a motor vehicle belonging to the Police Officer’s wife got damaged by bullets during the shooting. When the police processed the crime, they recovered ten 9mm spent casings.
Following the officer’s admittance to the hospital, the police federation issued an urgent appeal for blood donation.
“Kindly donate blood at the National Blood Bank or any blood receivable location island-wide. Take the receipt to the Spanish Town Hospital or any other location island-wide,” the police federation said.
The Police have launched a nationwide search for criminals who shot and injured their colleague at his home. The police will not leave any stone unturned until l they find the culprits and bring them to justice.
Meanwhile, the head of the Police Federation, Arlene McBean, condemned the attack on the Sergeant. She called on Jamaicans to step up and give greater support to local law enforcement officers as they tackle criminals who are bent on wreaking havoc across the island.
Man Killed After Shooting at Police Officer in Spanish Town
Police fatally neutralized a suspect after he allegedly shot at police officers along Jobs Lane in Spanish Town on Saturday morning.

Officials identified the deceased as Jerone Marton Daley, 44, of Red Ground in Old Harbor, St Catherine.
According to the police, at about 12:01 a.m., police patrolling the community observed Daley with a bulge at his waist.
The Police Officers approached the suspect and identified themselves to him. Daley reportedly removed a firearm from his waist and shot at the officers.
The law enforcers took evasive action and returned gunfire, hitting Daley. He fell clutching a Browning 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine containing ten rounds.
Law enforcement swiftly transported Daley to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced him dead.
Police officials alerted the Independent Commission of Investigations.
