Fatal Police Raid: Cops Killed Elbow Gang Leader Corey Rowe. Early Tuesday morning, April 1, 2025, the security forces reportedly fatally wounded a suspect. They believed this suspect was the alleged leader of the Elbow Gang. This gang operates in Central Village, St. Catherine, Jamaica.

A police fatal shooting on Thursday, October 10, is under investigation by the Independent Commission of Investigations. The authorities said the shooting occurred during a confrontation along March Pen Road in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

Dead is Kemar Richards, o/c ‘Ganja,’ 38, of March Pen Road in Spanish Town.

According to reports, at about 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, a police party executed a cordon and search operation in the March Pen Road area.

Upon entering a house, Richards, reportedly armed with a handgun, opened fire at the police.

The police took evasive action and returned fire, injuring the suspect.

Officers reportedly removed one 9mm pistol affixed with a magazine containing one cartridge from the neutralized man’s body.

Law enforcement swiftly transported the injured man to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

A woman died in a fatal shooting at a St. Andrew bar Friday morning in what appeared to be domestic violence. The authorities said the woman’s ex-boyfriend, who is the prime suspect, is in custody.

The police identified the dead woman as Rochelle Mason, 29, a hairdresser of Denver Crescent in Marverley, Kingston 20.

According to preliminary reports, at about 12:30 a.m., Mason was partying at a club on South Odean Avenue, Kingston 10. A man many believed was Mason’s ex-lover attacked and dragged her into a restroom.

Moments later, patrons heard an explosion and saw the suspect leaving the restroom.

One patron who reportedly investigated raised the alarm and alerted the police.

Upon arrival, officers found Mason in a sitting position on the floor of the restroom in a pool of blood. She had what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the mouth.

Responding cops transported the injured woman to the hospital, where officials pronounced her dead on arrival.

Investigators later apprehended the suspect, who was said to be an ex-soldier.

The investigation continues.
