Police Shootout: Three Suspects Killed in East Kingston. East Kingston Police fatally shot three suspected members of a robbery ring during a Shootout. The unfortunate shooting unfolded on Windward Road early on Sunday morning.
Police officials have since identified the deceased. They are Oshane Stubs, o/c Moon Head, 17, a laborer; Kayshawn Smith, o/c Bimmax, 20, a delivery man. And car wash attendant Abando Campbell, 19.
All three men were from East Kingston addresses, the police said.
Heads of the Kingston East Police Division Superintendent, Tommilee Chambers, told the Jamaica Observer on Sunday that the men were explicitly from the Rockfort and Rollington Town areas within her division.
According to Chambers, a police team traveling on Windward Road stopped three men they deemed were acting suspiciously.
The officer alighted from their unit and gave the men verbal instructions, which the men disobeyed.
Moments later, the suspects pulled their firearms and began shooting at the police. The police took evasive action and returned fire, and a shootout ensued.
When the Police Shootout ceased, the officers found the three suspects and one colleague suffering from gunshot wounds.
Also, the police recovered one Sig Sauer and a Rugger 9mm pistol with several rounds of ammunition at the scene.

Law enforcement rushed their colleague and the suspects to the hospital, where officials admitted the officer and pronounced the suspects deceased.
Based on feedback, Chambers said the men have been terrorizing residents and wreaking havoc for a period in the Jackson Road, Rollington Town, and Windward Road space.
But, she could not confirm whether the men were affiliates of any particular gang or on the police wanted list.
Even so, Campbell said, several events have occurred on the Windward Road strip for a while. People have reported getting robbed at the automated teller machine [ATM].
Further, Chambers said the intelligence the police had suggests the suspects might have been persons who would watch people who use the machine.
Law enforcement officials had imposed a 48-hour curfew in the area at the time of the shooting. The curfew began at 6:00 p.m. Friday and ended 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
Crime statistics indicated that robberies have increased in the division by 19.2 percent this year compared to last year.
From January 1 to November 9, 31 reported robberies were reported in the division, compared to 26 robberies during the same period in 2023.
