A taxi operator and one of three men involved in an alleged robbery were shot and injured along Roosevelt Avenue in Kingston 6 on Saturday, July 13, 2024, during a violent altercation.

The Stadium police reported that around 12:15 a.m., three men purportedly posed as passengers and boarded the taxi operator’s vehicle. Shortly thereafter, one of the men brandished a firearm and proceeded to rob the taxi operator.
In the midst of the robbery, the taxi operator resisted, leading to a violent struggle. During the altercation, both the taxi operator and one of the robbers sustained gunshot wounds. The assailants then fled from the scene.
Upon the police’s arrival, they discovered the injured taxi operator and promptly assisted him to the hospital for treatment.
A search conducted by the police in the area led to the discovery of the injured gunman and one of his accomplices. Additionally, a Sig Sauer 9mm pistol affixed with a magazine containing 11 9mm rounds was recovered.
The injured gunman was transported to the hospital under police guard, while the other robber is currently in police custody.
The identities of the suspects have been withheld by the authorities pending further investigations.
Investigation Launched into Fatal Shooting in Old Harbour.
Detectives from the St Catherine South PD have initiated an investigation into the tragic shooting of a resident in the Bannister district of Old Harbour, St Catherine, on Friday, July 12, 2024.

The deceased has been identified as Oneil Bailey, aged 50, from Pointy Heights, Bannister Housing Scheme, St Catherine.
Reportedly, around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, residents in the area heard gunshots coming from Bailey’s apartment. Upon inspection, they discovered Bailey unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds.
Subsequently, law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, conducted necessary procedures, and then transported the body to the hospital, where Bailey was officially pronounced deceased by the authorities.
At present, police are yet to ascertain a motive for the shooting.
Fatal Stabbing in Ocho Rios Under Police Investigation.
The police in Ocho Rios, St Ann, are currently investigating a tragic incident that occurred on the evening of Friday, July 12, 2024. The victim has been identified as Otis Henry, also known as ‘Tissy,’ aged 30 of Main Street, Pineapple Place, Ocho Rios.
Reports indicate that Henry was assaulted and fatally stabbed by an unknown assailant along Market Street, Ocho Rios, at approximately 7:00 p.m. Despite efforts to save him, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The Ocho Rios police are actively conducting an investigation into this distressing event.
St Catherine Farmer Charged with Murder and Illegal Burial of Security Guard.
A St Catherine farmer, Kamal McDonald, aged 25, from Frazer’s Content in Spanish Town, has been charged with murder and breaches of the Firearms Act in connection to the fatal shooting and unauthorized burial of 33-year-old security guard, Kevon Anderson.

The Spanish Town police reported that on May 8, 2024, at approximately 1:40 p.m., residents discovered a body in a shallow grave along Frazer’s Content main road and alerted the authorities. Subsequent investigation confirmed the identity of the deceased as Kevon Anderson.
Following leads, the police named McDonald as a person of interest and took him into custody. On Thursday, July 11, 2024, he was officially charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and unlawful burial of a dead body.
McDonald is scheduled to appear in court on July 22, 2024.
