Two individuals, including a bar owner, lost their lives in a shooting incident at a business premises in Christiana, Manchester, on the night of July 13, 2024. The third victim was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Tenesha Burton, 35, a businesswoman from Craig Head, Manchester, and Wilford Mollison, 74, also from Craig Head.
According to the authorities, at approximately 11:00 p.m., residents reported gunfire at Burton’s bar located along the Big Woods main road.
Law enforcement promptly responded to the scene, where they discovered the victims with gunshot wounds. Both Burton and Mollison were found inside the bar.
The injured individuals were swiftly transported to the hospital, where Mollison and Burton were tragically pronounced deceased, and the third victim was admitted for medical care.
At present, law enforcement has not determined a motive for the shooting, and the investigation remains underway.
Police indicted DJ ‘Rico’ with murder and several firearms breaches.
Sean Henry, also known as DJ ‘Rico,’ aged 31 and residing on Fifth Street, Greenwich Town, Kingston 13, has been formally charged with multiple offenses, including murder, by detectives assigned to the Hunts Bay PD.

These charges are linked to the murder of Rohan Seymour, known as ‘Boss,’ in Greenwich Town on July 4.
Henry faces charges of murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, using a prohibited weapon to commit a felony and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
On the morning of July 4, 2024, residents reported hearing gunshots around 10:35 a.m. in Greenwich Town. Law enforcement officials responded to the reports and discovered Seymour with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to rush him to the hospital, Seymour was pronounced dead on arrival.
Henry was arrested on Saturday, July 13, 2024, following an investigation. His court appearance is pending.
Chinese supermarket operators abducted in Spalding robbery.
CLARENDON, Jamaica—A recent news report has disclosed a distressing incident in Spaulding, Clarendon. On Sunday, July 14, 2024, a group of armed robbers targeted a Chinese-owned supermarket, perpetrating a robbery and abducting two of the owners.
At approximately noon, the assailants, wielding firearms, entered the establishment and proceeded to forcefully rob the owners of an undisclosed sum of cash. Subsequently, the perpetrators abducted two of the business owners before making their escape.
The abducted individuals were later released in the neighboring district of Bailieston. One individual who sustained injuries during the incident was admitted to a local hospital.
Law enforcement authorities have initiated a search for the perpetrators in response to this alarming incident.
Police indicted a Steer Town man after an altercation with security forces.
Devon Fallen, a resident of Steer Town, is facing assault charges after an incident where he accused the St. Ann police and soldiers of mistreatment. Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell confirmed that the police charged Mr. Fallen with assaulting police officers and resisting arrest. His court appearance is on September 3, 2024.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is investigating claims that security forces assaulted Mr. Fallen during a pre-dawn operation in Gulf, Steer Town, on July 13, 2024. Mr. Fallen, a 30-year-old fisherman, maintains that he is not a fugitive and his only weapon is a fishing gun.
SSP Powell reported that Mr. Fallen sustained injuries while being restrained and was subsequently arrested, charged, released on bond, and treated at St. Ann’s Bay Public Hospital.
