Police in Manchester are probing a double murder following the fatal shooting of a man and a woman in the Farm District in South Manchester on Saturday morning.

Authorities have increased patrols in the area to ensure public safety while the investigation continues, so residents are encouraged to remain vigilant.

According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred in the Farm District, near the Foundation Plaza, in Manchester, about 3:30 a.m. 

Reportedly, armed men breached the grill on a house and opened gun fire on a man and a woman. Then, they allegedly fired several rounds at a Toyota motorcar parked in the yard before escaping.

The authorities have identified the deceased individuals as Kaydene Isaacs, also known as ‘K,’ a 40-year-old shopkeeper, and Rohan “Rocky” Bernard. Reports indicated that Bernard and Isaacs were a couple.

The details of the fatal attack are still unclear, but police are actively investigating to restore safety and confidence within the community.

Detectives assigned to the Mandeville Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are leading the investigation into the double murder.

Law enforcement have appealed to anyone with information about the double murder that can assist in the investigation to come forward.

The murder rate in the Mandeville police division has jumped to 12 as of April 25, causing residents to concerns about safety.

This number represents a 140 per cent increase year on year. 

During the same period last year, the division recorded only five murders.
