ST ANN, Jamaica – Early Sunday morning, October 1, 2023, police in St. Ann responded to the fatal shooting of two men committed moments apart by unknown assailants in Seville Heights, St. Ann’s Bay.
The authorities identified the deceased as Tyrone Duffus, age 37, a laborer, and Ojay Grant, o/c ‘Rooster’, age 40, an electrician from Seville Heights addresses.
The police said at about 12:05 am, Duffus was at a shop in the community when men armed with guns approached him and opened fire, hitting him several times.
Then, the gunmen went to Grant’s home, which is close to the shop, kicked in his door, and opened fire at him.
The police responded to both crime scenes and transported the victims to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced them dead.
The authorities did not establish a motive for the shootings.

On Friday, September 29, 2023, law enforcement officers responded to a fatal accident scene along a section of the Orange Bay Main Road, where a motorcyclist lost control of the motorbike he was driving and collided with a palm tree, killing the female pillion rider who happens to be his girlfriend died on the site. The motorcyclist later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The police identified the female as Alecia Martin.
The authorities have yet to identify her boyfriend.
According to the police, at about 10 p.m., the couple was traveling on a bike with the front wheel off the ground along the Orange Bay Main Road.
The man reportedly lost control of the bike and collided with a palm tree, throwing his girlfriend onto the road.
A medical doctor pronounced Martin dead at the scene, while her boyfriend died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Thugs gunned down a 6-year-old boy in Duhaney Park.
KINGSTON, Jamaica— On Saturday morning, September 30, 2023, gunmen gunned down a six-year-old boy on Thetford Avenue in Duhaney Park, St. Andrew.
Authorities identified the dead child as Markino Tingling.
According to reports, at about 7:30 a.m., the father had just driven from their house in a white Toyota Hiace when a white Toyota Probox motor car with two armed men aboard pulled up behind the Hiace and opened gunfire, hitting the child in the back of the head.
The father reportedly drove the vehicle to the Duhaney Park police station. A police unit transported the boy to the hospital, where authorities pronounced him dead.
The police did not establish a motive for the shooting.
