Early Sunday morning, October 1, 2023, police responded to a murder scene in Burnt Ground, St. Elizabeth, where a JPS contractor was shot and killed in a possible love triangle.
The police identified the deceased as Orlando Blake, age 35, o/c ‘Lance,’ a late linesman of Holt District in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth.
According to a police report, at about 2:15 a.m., Blake visited an address at Fagan Town, Burnt Ground. While there, he was shot multiple times in the upper and taken to hospital, where he died.

Unconfirmed reports suggested Blake found his common-law wife with another man at their home in Santa Cruz sometime after 3:30 a.m.
Blake reportedly came home from work hours earlier than usual to find his partner in a compromising position.
The reports are that Blake’s common-law wife and her lover were in bed when they heard a noise from the grille.
The man, who mistook Blake for a Robber, reportedly went for his licensed firearm and shot him several times.
The shooter rushed the injured Blake to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The St. Elizabeth Police are investigating.
Mark X driver fled a fatal accident scene in Trelawny.
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — The driver of the Toyota Mark X, who fled the scene after an accident where one person died and two others were injured Sunday morning, October 01, 2023, is being sought by the police in Trelawny.
Dead is Janequea Johnson, a hotel worker, age 30, late resident of Butt Up in Albert Town in Trelawny.
According to reports, Johnson was on her way to work in a white Toyota Mark X motorcar with registration number 8253 KP. The driver of the Mark X attempted to negotiate a corner along the Hyde Hall main road and lost control of the vehicle. It plunged into a ditch.
Three passengers aboard the vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to the Falmouth Public General Hospital by good samaritans. The authorities pronounced Johnson dead and admitted the other two for treatment.
The condition of one of the two individuals hospitalized is considered severe.
The Trelawny police are investigating.
