Crime Fighters in Jamaica charged a second Clarendon suspect related to the 2024 murder of 72-year-old Allan Rattigan. Rattigan’s caregiver found his lifeless body at his home in Pyramid Point, Ocho Rios, St Ann, Jamaica.
The authorities have identified the accused as 23-year-old Ashan Gallimore of Rectory Road, May Pen, Clarendon, Jamaica.
According to the St Ann’s Bay police, around 10:00 pm on Monday, November 18, 2024, Rattigan’s caregiver discovered him at his home with his hands and feet bound.
The police responded and transported Rattigan to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced him dead.
Crime fighters later discovered that Rattigan had invited Gallimore and four other men to his home before the incident.
Unfortunately, a dispute arose, leading to the tragic events that unfolded, including Rattigan being strangled.
Police also reported that an undetermined quantity of jewelry, shoes, and a black cellular phone belonging to the deceased were stolen during the incident.
Detectives arrested and charged Gallimore after investigators obtained a recorded statement implicating him in the crime. HThe authorities have scheduled to appear in court on Friday, October 9.
Additionally, the crime fighters also charged another suspect last year. The authorities identified him as 23-year-old Malik Hepburn of Bucknor, Clarendon.
Taxi rams into school bus in Portland
On Monday, a taxi collided with a school bus near the Tom’s Hope community in Portland’s Rio Grande Valley. As a result, several students aboard the taxi sustained injuries that required treatment.
According to preliminary reports, the taxi, which was operating illegally, was allegedly traveling at a high speed with seven students aboard.
Upon reaching a certain point on the road, the driver attempted to negotiate a corner but lost control of the vehicle. As a result, the taxi collided with a government-operated school bus.
Crime fighters responded and transported the taxi driver and the injured students to the Port Antonio hospital, where the authorities treated them for minor cuts and bruises.
Fortunately, every single passenger on the school bus emerged unscathed, and the vehicle itself suffered only minor dents. It’s a relief to know that everyone is safe!
Crime fighters in Kingston have charged a suspect after seizing an illegal gun at his home
Police indicted a Kingston man with firearm related charges in connection with a firearm seizure on May 7.
Authorities identified the suspect as as Julian Manning, 29, of Border Avenue, Kingston 19, St Andrew in Jamaica.
The police charged Manning with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
According to the Constant Spring police at about 5:15 am, officers conducted a search at Manning’s residence.
During the search, the police seized a Glock 19 pistol with a magazine containing eight rounds of ammunition.
The officers apprehended Manning and later charged him following a question-and-answer interview in the presence of his attorney.
Manning’s court appearance date is pending.
