Police charged a Portland man with Sex Related Felonies. Police in Portland, Jamaica, indicted a suspect. He allegedly confessed to forcefully having carnal knowledge of a woman. This incident occurred in the Fairy Hill community on March 24, 2025.
Investigators have identified the confessed offender as Junior Simpson, o/c ‘Rasta,’ 60, a laborer from Fairy Hill in Portland.
According to the Port Antonio police, at about 5 p.m., on the day of the incident, Simpson reportedly entered the complainant’s home. Moments later, he took $3,000 from his pocket and placed it in her handbag.
Then, he demanded sexual favors from the woman. When she refused, he allegedly pushed her onto a bed and had carnal knowledge of her without her consent.
After the incident, the woman reported it to the police, who promptly launched an investigation into the matter.
On July 17, the police arrested Simpson. Investigators charged him on July 22. This happened after the complainant identified him in an ID parade. He also gave the police a sworn statement confessing to committing the crime.
The cops have yet to set a court date for Simpson.
Police charged a Westmoreland man with wounding with intent
Police in Westmoreland, Jamaica, arrested and charged a suspect who allegedly attacked a man with a hammer during a dispute.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Monday, July 21, 2025, in Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland.
The police identified the accused as Alaska Reid, o/c Masicka, age 20, a laborer from Dexter Street in Westmoreland. Law enforcement charged him with wounding with intent.
At 11:40 a.m., Reid and another man got into a physical dispute. During the confrontation, Reid allegedly struck the man on the head and upper body with a hammer.
Residents assisted the victim to the hospital, where the medical staff admitted him in a critical condition.
After receiving a report, the police launched an investigation. They later arrested Reid after eyewitnesses identified him.
On Wednesday, July 23, the police formally charged Reid after collecting eyewitness statements that implicated him.
His court date is pending.
