Gumshoes in Old Harbor, St. Catherine, are searching to find two suspects who allegedly shot and killed a taxi operator Saturday night, September 23, 2023.

The authorities identified the deceased as Lambert Simpson, o/c ‘Algie’, 51, of Lennonville Road, Old Harbour.

According to reporting, at about 10:30 p.m., Simpson drove home in his Toyota Probox motor car, and armed thugs lying in wait opened gunfire, hitting Simpson several times.

Then, the criminals escaped in Simpson’s Probox motor car. The thugs later abandoned the vehicle within proximity to the crime scene.

Police responded to the shooting and found Simpson with multiple gunshot wounds in his yard.

The authorities at the Spanish Town Hospital pronounced Simpson dead on arrival.

The police did not establish a motive for the killing.

Police charged ‘Teecha’ from Cumberland with murder.

St. Catherine detectives charged a male suspect with the murder of 33-year-old Damian Clarke on September 9, 2023, in the Cumberland community in St. Catherine.

The police charged Christopher Davis, o/c ‘Teecha’, age 28, of West Abbey Place, Cumberland, St Catherine, with murder, conspiracy to murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

At about 8:45 p.m., on the day in question, the authorities said Clarke was about to enter his yard when Davis and another man opened gunfire, killing him.

On September 19, 2023, the police apprehended Davis. The police subsequently charged him after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

His court appearance date is pending.
