The bloodletting continued on Sunday, September 24, 2023, on Grants Pen Avenue, St. Andrew, when armed thugs in a car cut down two men in a hail of bullets.
The deceased men were both late residents of Grants Pen Avenue addresses. And have not been identified as yet.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 3 p.m.
The fleeing gunmen reportedly abandoned their car on Queens and Chisholm Avenue in Richmond Park, eluding law enforcement officers who responded to the incident.
Unreliable police sources said the deaths were unrelated to an alleged conflict associated with popular entertainer Jahshii, whose brother got killed in the community on Saturday. But word on the streets suggested otherwise.
Police charged a St. Mary man with attempted murder of a child.
ST MARY, Jamaica – Police in St. Mary formally charged a male suspect whom citizens apprehended after he allegedly stabbed a child several times on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
The police charged Oraine Samuels, o/c ‘Bella’, age 31, a laborer of Bariffe Hall in St. Mary, with attempted murder.
According to a release from the Port Maria Police, at about 1:00 p.m., on the day in question, the complainant was walking along a track when Samuels allegedly approached her and offered to show her something on his phone.
The complainant refused, and the suspect became aggressive and stabbed the child several times.
Citizens in the community later found the wounded child and assisted her to the hospital, where she received treatment.
Angry community members subsequently laid hold of the suspect and turned him over to the police at the station, where the police formally charged him.
The suspect court appearance date is pending.
